Alfonso (Grandpa) Gallegos

Alfonso "Grandpa" Gallegos, age 62 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away December 24, 2022 surrounded by his family and loved ones. 

Mr. Gallegos was born April 25, 1960 to Alfonso Gallegos Perez and Guadalupe Lechuga Gallegos in Chihuahua, Mexico. 

Visitation for "Grandpa" will be Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplin Dennis Durfee officiating. Committal services will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. 

Alfonso is survived by his wife of 17 years; Betty Gallegos of Hobbs. Four sons; Santino Ramirez of Hobbs. Alfonso Gallegos Jr. and Bryan Gallegos both of California. Micheal Ramon (Mia) of Roswell. Six daughters; Christy Ramon (Augustine), Ruby Acosta, and Maria Ramon all of Hobbs. Consuelo Salcaido of Roswell. Christina Gallegos and Irene Carrillo both of California. Brother: Francisco Gallegos (Maggie) of California. Sister; Lorena Hernandez (Manuel) of Hobbs. 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Alfonso was preceded in death by his parents; Alfonso and Guadalupe. Brother; Eddye Gallegos. Sister; Nancy Gallegos. Three nephews; Alfonso Gallegos, Eddye Gallegos, and David Aguilar. 

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico. 

The family would like to say thank you to all of the caregivers and workers at Gentiva Hospice for their care of Mr. Gallegos. A special thank you to Dr. Hurt, Dr. Harmston and his wife Ernestine, Randy Owensby, and Judge McBee for their support and life long friendship to Alfonso. Your gratitude will always be remembered and appreciated.
