Andres Cortez

Andres Cortez, age 77 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away February 21, 2024 surrounded by his family and loved ones. 

Mr. Cortez was born January 20, 1947 to Andres Cortez and Marcela Sanz in Artesia, New Mexico. 

A memorial services in honor of Andres will be held Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplin Dawn Parker officiating. Cremation will be taking place at a later date. 

Andres is survived by his wife of 54 years Maria Cortez of Hobbs. Three children; Rose Caasi and husband Dan of Hobbs. Anthony Cortez and wife Melita of Loving, NM. Rebecca Cortez and husband Charles of Arenas Valley, NM. Brother; Ruben Cortez and wife Helen of Hobbs. 10 grandchildren; David Cortez, Jacob Martinez, Anthony Cortez Jr., Fabian Ricky Estrada, Samuel Cortez, Melanie Estrada, D'maria Gutierrez, Andrew (AJ) Estrada, Christian Estrada, and Chantelle Cortez. 23 great-grandchildren including Andres Roman Gutierrez who carries his grandfathers name sake. 

Andres was preceded in death by his parents Andres and Marcella Cortez. Two sisters; Delfina Sanchez and Dominga Tavarez. Brother; Raymond Cortez. 

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
