Cecil LaDale Johnson

Cecil LaDale Johnson, 53 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away January 13, 2025, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas surrounded by his family and loved ones. 

Mr. Johnson was born February 21, 1971, to Henry Johnson and Mary Shells in Altus, Oklahoma. 

Visitation for Dale will be Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the First Methodist Church with Pastor Ernest Hodge officiating. Committal burial will be held at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. 

Dale is survived by his seven children: Cecil "DJ" Johnson, Tevin Johnson, Caydon Meridyth, Cayson Meridyth, and Brittany Johnson all of Hobbs, New Mexico. Haylee Meridyth of Lubbock, Texas and Laila Johnson of Midland, Texas. Four brothers: Kenneth Johnson and Kerry Johnson both of Hobbs, New Mexico. Marcus Crowder and Bruce Crowder both of Frederick, Oklahoma. Three sisters: Darlene Wrighter of Mesquite, Texas. Sharon Johnson of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Janice Durham of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Special friends: Shondra Quarles of Dallas, Texas. Fifteen grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Dale was preceded in death by his parents: Henry Johnson. Mother: Mary Wrighter and his dad: Jim "Sonny" Wrighter. Five brothers: Jerry Wrighter, Johnny Wrighter, Willie Wrighter, Bonnie Ray Wrighter, and Danny Wrighter. Sister: Sarah Wrighter. 

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
