Ernest Alvarez

Ernest Alvarez, age 66 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away on August 17, 2022 surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Mr. Alvarez was born August 15, 1956 to Abel Alvarez and Clara Rosales in Hobbs, New Mexico. 

Visitation will be Monday, August 22, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home. A prayer vigil will recite at 6 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Helena Catholic Church with Father Joe Pacquing officiating. Committal burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. 

Ernest is survived by his two sisters; Marylou Randon of Hobbs, New Mexico and Alice (Tony) Ramirez of Dallas, Texas. Three brothers; George (Martha) Alvarez and Albert Alvarez both of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Abel Alvarez Jr of Hobbs, New Mexico. Numerous nieces and nephews. 

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; Abel and Clara Alvarez. 

When Ernest's father passed away he became a man at the early age of 17 when he went to work as a roughneck through out the permian basin to help his mother and siblings. He always had a big heart to help others especially those who were in need and close to him. Everywhere he went he always made new friends. Ernest moved to Dallas 36 years ago and became a building maintenance mechanic for Shepps Dairy and Freedman Meat Co. He liked to joke around with family and friends and was a big joker of the crowd. Ernest will be forever loved and missed by his family and loved ones, 

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
