Esteban Montes

Esteban Montes, 75, of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away January 13, 2026, surrounded by his family and loved ones. 

Mr. Montes was born October 13, 1950 to Jose Montes and Maria de la Luz Hernandez in Urrutia, Chihuahua, Mexico. 

Visitation for Esteban will be Monday, January 19, 2026, from 1 p.m. to  5 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Calvary  Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Isidro Ponce and Pastor Aurelio Lozano officiating. Committal burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. 

Esteban is survived by his wife of 38 years: Ilda Montes of Hobbs. Granddaughter: Karen Sarli and husband Brett of Seminole, Texas. Sister: Guadalupe Montes of Las Vegas, Nevada. Two brothers: Salomon Montes and Adan Montes both of Hobbs and two great-grandchildren. 

Esteban was preceded in death by parents: Jose and Maria de la Luz Montes. Daughter: Karen Herrera. Two sisters: Fidela Valdez and Pilar Jacobo. Two brothers: Manuel Montes and Jose Montes Jr. Nephew: Ernesto Valdez. 

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
