Gary Lee Johnson, was born January 17, 1943 to Earl William Johnson and Melba Jean (Olson) Johnson in Webb City, Missouri. He passed from this life to his heavenly home on March 11, 2022, at the age of 79.
He graduated from high school in 1961 in Neosho, Missouri. He got his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri in 1965 and his master's degree in education in 1970 from University of Missouri. He pledged Phi Delta Kappa during his college years. He received his Education Specialist degree from Eastern New Mexico University in 1972. He taught school in Carlsbad, NM and was a Elementary Principal in Mountainair, NM and Eunice, NM. His love of children and education were evident until his retirement in 1994. He was past president of New Mexico Association of Elementary Principal’s, and past Chairman of Lea Community Federal Credit Union. Gary was also a member of Estancia, NM Masonic Lodge. Gary loved to sing and play the piano. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Neosho Missouri.
On May 3, 1980 Gary married his sweetheart and best friend, Linda Lollar in Eunice, NM.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, of the home, son; Roger Lollar and his wife Doris of Midland, Texas; Granddaughter: April Sosa and her husband, Israel of Midland, Texas and their children, Cason and Tristan; Grandson: Jordan Lollar and his wife, Kirstie of Ira, Tx and their children, Addison, Brantley and Kyleigh, Grandson; Joel Lollar and his wife, Kaci of Snyder, Tx and their children, Tracer, Tatton and Tucker. One sister, Betty Williams and her husband Dale Rogers, Arkansas; two nieces, Rebecca Booth and husband Michael of Rogers, Arkansas and Jennifer Holdridge and her husband, Greg, of Springfield, Missouri.
Gary was proceeded in death by his parents, Earl and Melba Johnson.
Graveside services will be held at Brunson Memorial Cemetery. Eunice, New Mexico on Saturday; March 19, 2022 at 1 P.M.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Gary’s name to the charity of your choice.
Gary will be deeply missed by all who loved him, especially his grandchildren and his great grandchildren, whom he adored.
