Gregory Tyrell Brooks. age 28, a native of Hobbs, New Mexico, passed on April 08, 2024, in his home. He just celebrated his 28th birthday.
Mr. Brooks was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on April 03, 1996 to Angela Brooks.
Visitation for Gregory will be Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Green Church with Pastor Samuel Smith officiating. Committal burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
He is survived by his mother Angela Brooks. Sister: Cherlee Collins. Grandfather: Bobby Brooks Sr. all of Hobbs, NM. Uncle: Bobby Brooks Jr. of Los Lunas, NM. Two great aunts: Evelyn Rising of Hobbs, NM. Camilla Watkins of Oklahoma. Great uncle: Harrison (Brenda) Watkins of Texas. Niece, Rhi'Nazia Collins and a host of cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his great grandparents Rev. H.R. and Johnnie Watkins. Grandmother: Irene Brooks. Uncle: Thurman Brooks.
Gregory attended Hobbs High School and graduated from University of New Mexico with a degree in Media Arts. This incredible young man had many talents. Greg was a photographer, he produced and created videos, had a podcast, a clothing line called (Growing Love), and even wrote a book, called The Forgotten Master. He also was security guard and if that isn't enough. He discovered the love of teaching at Heizer Middle School. Gregory made a huge impact on everyone he met. Gregory was one of a kind and he will forever be missed.
