Isa Borunda

Isa Borunda, age 83 of Hobbs, New Mexico, passed away April 10, 2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones. 

Mrs. Borunda was born July 03, 1940, to Elias Garcia and Delubina Maestas in Espanola, New Mexico. 

Visitation for Isa will be Friday, April 12, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home. A prayer vigil will recite at 3 p.m. 

Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. Helena Catholic Church with Deacon Johnny Archuleta officiating. Committal burial will follow at Memory Gardens. 

Isa is survived by her five children: Judy Mulkey, Maxie Rey, Debbie Rey and husband Lolo, Vickie Jeter and husband Jimmy, and Connie Pacheco. Two sisters: Elvira Archuleta and Dolores Garcia. Ten grandchildren: Veronica Elze, Anthony Rey and wife Crystal, Jeremy Rey and wife Sylvia, Bobby Jeter, Chelsie Bowman and husband Josh, Samantha Pacheco, William Jeter and wife Stephanie, Stefanie Graham and husband Wade, Amanda Propst and husband Brad, and Andrew Jeter and wife Ciara. Twenty-two great-grandchildren: Ozzy Robledo, Eric Robledo, Mercedes Rey, Tristan Rey, Ryan Jeter, Samantha Magoun, Jaden Jeter, Kaylin Jeter, Brinkley Bowman, Brooke Bowman, Braelynn Bowman, Lilly Hill, Rocket Jeter, Braylee Graham, Ella Propst, Myles Propst, Ava-Marie Jeter, Sonny Pacheco, Johnathan Jeter, Emerson Jeter, Jorden Rey, and Carlos Rey,  Great great-grandchild: Grayson Wyatt. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Isa was preceded in death by her husband Valentin Borunda. Parents: Elias and Delubina Garcia. Son: Robert Randy Gurule. Three brothers: Frank Garcia, Max Garcia, and Elias Garcia Jr. Four sisters: Amelia Lujan, Magdalena Romero, Arcelia Lopez, and Linda Martinez. Uncle: Celso Maestas. Grandson: Daniel Rey. Great-granddaughter: Zaylah Best.

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
