James "Joe" Gomez

James Joseph David Gomez, age 48 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away May 01, 2024 at Mountain View Hospital in Las Cruces, New Mexico. 

Mr. Gomez was born September 25, 1975 in Seminole, Texas. 

A memorial services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 2 p.m. Cremation will be taking place. 

James is survived by his girlfriend of 30 years Sonia Quiroz of Hobbs. Father: Reyes Flores of Hobbs. Two sisters: April Armijo and husband Simon and Sylvia Florez all of Hobbs. Three brothers: Reyes Florez Jr., Robert Florez and wife Brittnee, and Richard Florez and wife Geraldine all of Hobbs. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

James was preceded death by mother Sylvia Lopez. Sister: Cynthia Lopez. Maternal grandmother: Olivia Lopez. Maternal grandfather: Marcos Lopez. Aunt: Mary Bolanos. Uncle: Richardo Lopez. 

For those of you that knew James "Joe" Gomez, knew what an amazing man he was. He is looking down on us reunited with his mother and sister. This was a hard battle, but we all know Joe was fearless. Everyone in his family and those who knew him are heartbroken over the loss of Joe, we are going to miss him so much. he was always happy and the life of the party. There was nothing he couldn't do even in a wheel chair, he could do it all and nothing slowed him down. Brother, may you forever be in our hearts, even though you were taken from us too soon know one day we will all be together again. Hold it down it till we get there give mom and sister our love. We know you're walking and running up there looking down on us, just as we look up at you. We love you Joe.
