Joanna, a beloved artist, dreamer, and creator, passed away on August 18, 2024 at the age of 32.
Ms. Martinez was born on November 20. 1991 to Juan Martinez and Martha Ortiz in San Jose, California.
A celebration of Joanna's life will be held on Saturday August 24, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Joanna was known for her boundless imagination and passion for the arts, Joanna leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire. From an early age, Joanna had a keen eye for beauty in the world. Whether through painting, singing, writing, or simply the way she saw life, she turned the ordinary into something extraordinary. Her creativity was not just a talent but a way of life-a means to connect, to heal, and to understand the world around her. Beyond her art, Joanna was known for her kindness, her ability to see the good in everyone, and the unwavering belief that beauty exists in the most unexpected places. She had a way of making others feel seen, heard, and appreciated, often encouraging those around them to find their own creative voice.
She is survived by her parents Juan Martinez and Martha Ortiz. Siblings: Carlos Cerda, Gerald Cerda, Karla Santillán, Marley Martinez, Yahely Martinez, Paloma Martinez and Johnny Martinez and her niece Emma Santillan who will forever hold onto the memories of her warmth, laughter, and artistic spirit. Though she is no longer with us, her essence will live on in the art she created and in the hearts of those she loves.
Joanna lived with passion, loved with all her heart, and created with a soul that knew no bounds. Joanna had a smile that could change lives and always had a kind word or a compliment for anyone that crossed her path. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and kind heart. She loved deeply and made sure to let it be known. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
