John Russell Pruitt JR. entered Heaven's gate on November 21, 2023.
He was born August 11, 1948, in El Paso TX to Myrtle Griggs and John R Pruitt.
Visitation will be for John on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Chapel services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Benny Greenlee officiating. Committal services will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
John is survived by his wife Carolyn of the home, son John of the home, daughters Jeannie Taylor (Wesley) and Wanda Ryan all of Hobbs. Grandchildren Patrick Ryan, Nikko Cleer, Jack Taylor (Raquel), Leslie Chacon (Andrew) and Tyler Taylor, and Makayla Pruitt. Bonus grandsons Wesley, Marcus, Adam, Kevin Taylor and Michael Magnuson. great Grandkids, Mason Chacon, Jasper Cleer, Sophie Chacon, and Audrie Chacon. Brother Donald Pruitt, sisters Linda S. Pietz (Tim), Carolyn Sudduth and Sandra Freeman all of Hobbs.
Preceded him in death are his parents Myrtle and R.G Sudduth, sisters Mary Lee, Sharon, Dorothy. Brothers Jackie, Vernon, Bobby, Freddy, Richard.
John grew up in Carlsbad and Hobbs NM. after High school he enlisted with the United States army and was stationed in Germany. John married Carolyn Pritchard on July 14, 1971, in Hobbs. John worked many jobs on Drilling rigs, Red Crow as a cook. John and his wife ran the game room in Hobbs for several years. John loved being Santa Clause any chance he got. He loved to collect ball caps with his grandson Patrick, when he was able, he junked with several family members. John also enjoyed hunting and fishing. though his greatest love was his family.
