John William Pruitt

John William Pruitt (JW) age 49 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away February 16, 2024 at his residence. 

Mr. Pruitt was born July 15, 1974 to John R. Pruitt and Carolyn Pritchard in Hobbs, New Mexico. 

Visitation for John will be Monday, February 26, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home. Committal burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.

John is survived by his daughter Makayla Pruitt, who he loved with all his heart. Mother; Carolyn Pruitt. Sisters; Jeannie Taylor and husband Wesley and Wanda Ryan. Nieces; Leslie and husband Andrew, Sophie, and Audrie. Nephews; Patrick, Nikko, Jack and wife Raquel, Tyler, Mason, and Jasper. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his father John R. Pruitt. Maternal and paternal grandparents and a few life long friends.

JW had a love for making wood burings, hunting, fishing, and playing pool. He worked for many years as a cook in Hobbs for North 40, Zia Park Casino, and Lea County Correctional Facility. He also sold his wood burnings, knives, and other items at the county fair and farmers market.

JW was always quick to tell a joke or act silly in order to draw laughter from others. He will missed dearly. 

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
