Jose Maria Lopez Sr.

Jose Maria Lopez Sr., age 86 of Jal, New Mexico, passed away April 18, 2024 in Clovis, New Mexico. 

Mr. Lopez was born August 29, 1936 to Francisco Lopez and Thomasa Martinez in Marathon, Texas. 

Visitation for Jose will be Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calvary Funeral Home in Eunice, New Mexico. A prayer vigil will recite at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Jal, New Mexico with Father Chris Amojo officiating. Committal burial will follow at the Jal Cemetery. 

Jose is survived by his five children Jose Lopez Jr., of Clovis, New Mexico. Venita Lopez, Lorenzo Chacon, and Juanita Chacon all of Jal, New Mexico. Linda Castillo of Hatch, New Mexico. Brother: Julian Lopez of Monahans, Texas. Sister: Antonita Briones of Jal, New Mexico. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. 

Jose was preceded in death by his wife Dominga Lopez. Parents:Francisco and Thomasa Lopez. Three brothers: Robert Lopez, Carlos Lopez, and Freddy Martinez. Sister: Drucila Del Rio. 

Services are under the direction of Calvary Funeral Home of Eunice, New Mexico.
