Joe was a man who presented a tough exterior to the world, but those who truly knew him understood the teddy bear within. His dark humor and satirical personality often left him misunderstood, but behind his sharp wit and sometimes gruff demeanor was a heart full of generosity and love. Joe was a man who would give his last to help those in need, his kindness often taken for granted. He craved acceptance and longed to receive the same love he freely gave to others. His greatest joy came from spending time with his loved ones, whether riding his motorcycle on an open road, hunting in the quiet solitude of nature, or simply sharing laughter with family and friends.
Though he never had children of his own, Joe was a fatherly figure to his nieces and nephews, offering guidance, love, and support as if they were his own. His unwavering loyalty and care will always be remembered by those fortunate enough to be in his circle. Joe is also survived by two sisters: Olivia Rubio and Dora Castillo. Three brothers: Cipriano Orona Jr., Oscar Orona, and Leeroy Rodriguez.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents: Cipriano and Josefina Orona. Sister: Manuela Orona and brother: Agapito Orona.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and an unmatched generosity of spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who truly understood the man behind the tough exterior.his final act of generosity. Joe chose once again to give, as he became an organ donor to help save the lives of others, a testament to the selflessness that defined him throughout his life.
Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
