Jose was known for his easy smile, playful sense of humor, and his trademark phrase that everything was “pretty good alright.” He loved staying busy, and he found joy in working with his hands, fixing things, and keeping himself moving. His determination carried him through challenges that would have stopped most people. Despite being legally blind and color blind, he faced each day with resilience, quietly overcoming obstacles and living life on his own terms. He enjoyed simple pleasures: sharing jokes, making others laugh, waking up early, taking his naps, and spending time at Jaliscos. He took pride in traditions like making tamales, preparing his well-loved beef stew, and creating moments that became lasting memories. Christmases, family gatherings, and everyday moments were brighter because of him. Jose showed love through presence. If someone needed him, he showed up — whether at sporting events, celebrations, or the moments that mattered most. Ambitious, caring, goofy, and true to himself, he lived with a strong work ethic, unwavering faith, and a devotion to his family that shaped everyone around him. He will be remembered as a faithful servant of God, a devoted father, and a hardworking man whose strength and spirit touched all who knew him.
Jose is survived by his wife, Estela Ramirez, of Hobbs. Two sons: Jose Ramirez Jr. of Hobbs and Jose Manuel Ramirez of San Diego, California.
