Josephine Najera

Josephine Najera, age 92 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family and loved ones. 

Mrs. Najera was born March 19, 1929 to Cruz Acosta and Pabla Benavidez in Henry, Nebraska. 

Visitation will be Monday, October 25, 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A prayer vigil will recite at 6 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be October 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jorge Vargas officiating. Committal burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. 

Josephine is survived by her children; Six sons; Jose Najera and wife Doris of San Francisco, California. Pablo Najera and wife Mary, Thomas Najera, David Najera and wife Sylvia, Enrique and wife Elisa and Daniel Najera all of Hobbs, New Mexico. One daughter; Virginia Arcidez of Hobbs, New Mexico. Two sisters; Isabel Acosta of Hobbs, New Mexico and Flora Lowery of Penbrook North Carolina. Thirty grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. 

Josephine was preceded in death by her spouse; Jose Najera who passed away in 2010. Parents; Cruz and Pabla. Two daughters; Christina Najera and Linda Gonzalez. Three Brothers; Inez Acosta, Aldofo Acosta and Cruz Acosta. Two sisters; Susie Rendon and Nancy Benavidez. Two great-grandchildren; Gallino Najera and Enrique Pacheco III. 

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
