Juan Martinez

Juan Martinez, 86 of Jal, New Mexico passed away July 14, 2025, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Mr. Martinez was born January 03, 1939 to Felipe Martinez and Catalina Mendoza in Luis Leon, Chihuahua, Mexico. 

Visitation for Juan will be Friday, July 18, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Jal, New Mexico. A prayer vigil will recite at 7 p.m. 

Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Jal, New Mexico. Committal burial will follow at the Jal Cemetery. 

Juan is survived by his wife of 63 years: Josefa Martinez of Jal, New Mexico. Five children: Carlos Martinez and Catherine Ortiz both of Odessa, Texas. Ruben Martinez of Jal, New Mexico. Edwardo Martinez of Artesia, New Mexico. Liz Cruz of Bradenton, Florida. Brother: Felipe Martinez of VanHorn, Texas. Ten grandchildren: Annabel Martinez, Catherine Ortiz, Fredrick Martinez, Nathan Martinez, Timothy Martinez, Edward Martinez, Sonny Martinez, Anthony Martinez, Angel Martinez, and Carlos Martinez and numerous, nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Juan was preceded in death by his parents: Felipe and Catalina Martinez. Son: Alfredo Martinez. Three brothers: Ramon Martinez, Polito Martinez, Lorenzo Martinez. Sister: Josefina Sanchez. 

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
