Julian Jessie Oliver

Julian J. Oliver, age 75, of Hobbs, New Mexico, passed away on October 12, 2021 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Mr. Oliver was born June 18, 1946 to Josephine Dutchover Williams in Carlsbad, New Mexico. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A prayer vigil will recite at 6 P.M. 

Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Helena Catholic Church with Father Joseph Pacquing officiating. Committal burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. 

Julian is survived by his children; Five sons; Julian Oliver Jr, Michael Sosa, Charlie Oliver, Rusty Oliver and Jermaine Oliver all of Hobbs, New Mexico. Three daughters; Renee Melchor of Odessa, Texas, Barbara Garcia of Hobbs, New Mexico and Katina Oliver of Las Vegas, Nevada. One sister; Mary Williams of Hobbs, New Mexico. One brother; Walter Williams of Hobbs, New Mexico. Twenty-Three grandchildren. Fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.   

Julian was preceded in death by his wife Elidia “Lily” Oliver. Mother; Josephine. One brother; Rudy Navarette, Maternal grandparents; Emilio and Santos Dutchover, Two grandchildren; Joshua Oliver and Miracle Sosa.

Julian married Elidia “Lily” on January 4, 1967 in Seminole Texas. He loved and cherished his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a Army veteran, bravely served in the Vietnam War. After coming home, he would become an accomplished and well known International Music Promoter; earning him the key to the City of Hobbs. He will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him. 

In lieu of flowers of the family is asking for donations to made to his memorial fund at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home.
