Luis Frausto Obituary

Luis C. Frausto, age 99 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and loved ones on July 05, 2021. 

Luis was born in El Paso, Texas on November 02, 1921 to Luis Godina Frausto and Amalia Munoz Castorena. 

Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Helena Catholic Church in Hobbs, New Mexico with Father Joe Pacquing officiating. Prayer Vigil will recite before at 1:30 P.M. 

Luis is survived by his seven children. Daughter; Molly Herrera (Manuel) of Hobbs, New Mexico. Six sons; Luis Frausto Jr (Gloria) of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Carlos Frausto of Dallas, Texas. Robert Frausto (Blythe) of Mesa, Arizona, Joe Frausto (Janie) of Odessa, Texas, Ruben Frausto of Hobbs, New Mexico and Christopher Frausto of Dallas, Texas. Sixteen grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren. One sister; Gennie Gomez of Los Angles, California. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Luis was preceded in death by his wife of 76 years; Alicia Frausto who passed away in 2016. Parents; Luis and Amalia. Brother; Margarito C Frausto who was killed in combat in France in 1944. Sister; Consuelo Castorena Frausto Herrera, Daughter; Margert Pena and a great grandson. 

Luis devoted his life to his wife; who he married on March 01, 1945 in Midland, Texas, and his children and grand children. He served in The U.S Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Frausto served as post commander of the American G.I. Form during the 1950-1960's and the Veteran Foreign Wars.

In Lieu of flowers, the Frausto family request donations to be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Hospice Charities. 

The Frausto family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Elite Home Care, Kindred Hospice and Veteran Administration. 

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
