Lydia "Memo" Gonzales

Lydia “Memo” Gonzales, age 75 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Mrs. Gonzales was born on August 18, 1945 to Carlos Jurado Carrasco and Trinidad Natividad in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Prayer Vigil will recite at 6:00 P.M.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Helena’s Catholic Church in Hobbs, New Mexico with Father Joe Pacquing officiating. Cremation will take place at a later date.

Memo is survived by her husband of 48 years; Alex Gonzales of Hobbs, New Mexico. Two daughters; Loretta Flores and husband Gabriel and Glenna Rendon and husband Simon all of Hobbs, New Mexico. One step son; Alex Gonzales Jr of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Two sisters; Mickie Gomez and husband Henry and Linda Chavez and husband Richard all of Hobbs, New Mexico. Eight grandchildren; Ruben Sanchez Jr, Veronica Potts (Jamie), Monica Villalobos (Harvey), Angel Sanchez (Korahleah), and Alex Chagnon (Bianca) all of Hobbs, New Mexico; Tina Sanchez (Bobby) of Lubbock, Texas; Alex Gonzales III and Angelo Gonzales both of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Nineteen great grand-children; Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Memo was preceded in death by her parents; Three brothers; Oscar Jurado, Salvador C. Juardo and Salvador T. Jurado. One sister; Lydia C. Jurado and one great grandson; Jose Alex Baeza.

Memo loved to be at the ball park when her daughter’s and grandchildren were playing. Sometimes we couldn’t get her to leave. Memo loved going to the casino with her Viejo. Memo will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
