Manuela "Nellie" Orona

Manuela Orona, age 75 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away on May 29, 2022 in Lubbock, Texas. 

Mrs. Oronoa was born October 02, 1946 to Cipriano and Josefina Orona in Presido, Texas. 

Visitation for Manuela will be Thursday, June 02, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home. A prayer vigil will recite at 6 p.m. 

Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, June 03, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St Helena Catholic Church with Father Joe Pacquing officiating. Committal burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. 

Manuela is survived by her two children; Nora Valenzuela and husband Johnny of Hobbs. Son; Reynaldo Orona Jr and wife Elizabeth of Hobbs. Two sisters. Five brothers. Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 

Manuela was preceded by her husband Reynaldo Orona Sr. Parents; Cipriano and Josefina Orona. 

Manuela who many knew her by Nellie was a loving, caring and giving women who loved to help everyone that she could. She always worried about everyone and prayed for them. She was very strong spoken. Nellie was a Hobbs School bus driver for 27 years. She loved making tamales and eating them also. She loved her children and grandchildren and gave them all she could and then some. She will be missed by many. 

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
