Maria del Socorro Huerta

Maria del Socorro Huerta, 80 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away December 07, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Mrs. Huerta was born August 03, 1945, to Isabel Gonzalez Rosales and Josefina Rodriguez Gonzales in Piedras Negras, Chihuahua, Mexico. 

Visitation for Maria will be Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home. A prayer vigil will recite at 6 p.m. 

Mass of Christian burial will be held December 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Helena Catholic Church with Father Joe Pacquing officiating. Committal burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. 

Maria is survived by her five children: Jesus Huerta of Raton, New Mexico. Blanca Huerta de Perez, Maria del Carmen Huerta de Benavidez, Concepcion Huerta, and Manuel Huerta all of Hobbs. Three sisters: Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez and Maria del Carmen Rodriguez both of Mexico. Maria Teresa Rodriguez of Kansas. Two brothers: Jose Francisco Rodriguez of Texas and Jose Luis Rodriguez of Mexico. Ten grandchildren: Elaina Benavidez de Orozco, Blanca Alicia Perez, Sergio Jesus Perez, Reynaldo Benavidez III, Lorena Perez de Jaquez, and Juana Iris Benavidez all of Hobbs. Gabriel Clofas Mares, Jessica Christina Huerta, and Vanity Danielle Huerta all of Raton, New Mexico. Rigo Alberto Benavidez of San Antonio, Texas. Thirty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. 

Maria was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Loya Huerta who passed in 2023. Parents: Isabel and Josefina Gonzalez Rodriguez. 

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
