Micaela "Mickie" Gomez

Micaela "Mickie" Gomez, age 84 of Hobbs, New Mexico, passed away April 10, 2024 surrounded by her family and loved ones at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas.

Mrs. Gomez was born January 22, 1940, to Carlos Jurado and Trinidad Natividad in Pecos, Texas.

Visitation for Mickie will be Monday, April 15, 2024, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A prayer vigil will recite at 6 p.m. 

Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Chris Amojo officiating. Committal burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery. 

Mickie is survived by her husband of 67 years Henry Gomez of Hobbs, New Mexico. Eight children: Becky Vasquez of Wolfforth, Texas. Rachel Guajardo, Gina Gomez, Jessica Gomez, Roy Gomez, and Robert Gomez all of Hobbs, New Mexico. Mike Vasquez and Richard Gomez both of Coleman, Texas. Twenty-three grandchildren. Thirty-nine great-grandchildren and nine great great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Mickie was preceded in death by her parents Carlos and Trinidad Jurado. Two sons: Ray Gomez and Henry Gomez Jr. Two sisters: Lydia Gonzales and Linda Chavez. Brother: Oscar Jurado. Two grandsons: Ruben Zamora Jr. and Anthony Gomez. 

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
