Michael Green

Michael Green, age 38 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 20, 2023. 

Mr. Green was born August 10, 1985 to Rocky Green and Dawn Jeter in Seminole, Texas. 

Visitation for Michael will be Friday, October 27, 2023 at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home Chapel from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Church services will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 1 p.m. at New Beginnings Church in Lovington, New Mexico with Pastor David Villar officiating. Committal services will follow at Lovington Cemetery. 

Michael is survived by his father Rocky Green of Hobbs. Sister; Crystal Wilson of Ft Worth, Texas. Two brothers; Jacob Green of Portales, New Mexico and Jeremy Wilson of Lovington, New Mexico. Maternal grandmother; Aurora Jeter. Five uncles; Shane Jeter, Carey Jeter, Shannon Jeter, Larry Jeter, and Shaw Jeter. Two aunt; Tammy Barry, Selina Green and numerous cousins, and friends. 

Michael was preceded in death by his mother Dawn Jeter. Maternal grandfather; Burley Jeter. Paternal grandparents; Jim and Joyce Bowers. Two brothers; Ricky Holmes and Michael Holmes. 

Michael was a son, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend. Michael was a part of the homeless community and he enjoyed the life he lived. Michael was well known in his community and surrounding areas. He was a kind, sweet, caring person and so many people have made memories with him that will last a life time. Michael was cherished by all those who crossed paths with him. He will be forever loved and missed. 

Michael will forever be known as a hero. He and two others were out one cold January night in 2022 and approached a dumpster where they heard a newborn cry. They reached into the dumpster and pulled out a sweet newborn baby boy who was later named Saul who is now thriving thanks to Michael and the others. His heroism will never be forgotten!

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
