Raymond Cantu Jr.

Raymond Cantu, age 69 of Jal, New Mexico passed away January 01, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family and loved ones. 

Mr, Cantu was born November 25, 1955 to Ramon Cantu and Yolanda Rodriguez in Weslaco, Texas. 

Visitation for Raymond will be Monday, January 06, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calvary Funeral Home in Eunice, New Mexico. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 07, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Derick Wilcox in Jal, New Mexico. Committal burial will follow at the Jal Cemetery. 

Raymond is survived by his wife of 46 years: Veronica Cantu of Jal, New Mexico. Son: Michael Cantu and wife Yadira of Jal, New Mexico. Mother: Yolanda Cantu of Texico, New Mexico. Sister: Mary Cantu of Texico, New Mexico. Brother: John Cantu of Jal, New Mexico. Eight grandchildren: Axia Herrera and Elijah Herrera both of San Angelo, Texas. Jasmine Cantu, Jade Cantu, Rias Cantu, Raya Cantu, Aurelia Cantu, and Arianna Cantu all of Jal, New Mexico. Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Raymond was preceded in death by his father: Ramon Cantu who passed away in 2012. Daughter: Monica Cantu who passed away in 2016. 

A special thank you to Raymond who served our country and was a U.S. Army Veteran. 

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
