Refugio Morales, “Cuca”, age 62, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021.
Mrs. Morales was born November 01, 1959 to Pedro Salazar and Velia Alvardo in El Paso, Texas.
Visitation will be Monday, November 29, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hobbs First Assembly Church.
Church service will be Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Hobbs First Assembly Church with Pastor Tony Valenzuela officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
Cuca is survived by her life-long husband Luis Morales Sr., of 42 years. Daughter Louisa Morales; daughter, Jessica Suazo and her husband Hugo; daughter, Adriana Valenzuela and her husband Antonio; son, Luis Morales Jr. and his wife Beatrice. Three grandsons, Edgar Hernandez, Lucas Alekxander Valenzuela, and Luis Rogelio Morales III. Six granddaughters, Carla Raquel Hernandez, Natalie Valenzuela, Alexandra Valenzuela, Audrys Adriana Valenzuela, Nohemy Bautista, and Ariana Brenda Morales. Brother, Miguel Alvarado; sister, Maria Manriquez; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Cuca is preceded in death by her loving son Edgar Morales; father, Pedro Salazar; mother, Velia Alvarado; and sisters, and brothers.
Cuca was a graduate from Job Corps from Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a member of Casa De Fe here in Hobbs, NM with pastors Ana Laura and Jessie Rojas. She also congregated during her stays in Chihuahua Mexico at Puertas de Sion with pastors Daniel and Yuli Jaramillo.
Cuca had been a Hobbs resident for 1979. In 1990 her and her sisters started a small business that soon with their hard work opened up as a store now known as Maria’s Flowers. She soon became the sole owner of this business which has been proudly serving the Hobbs community for 33 years.
Cuca’s talents were many, she was an extremely accomplished person, florists, seamstress, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, church volunteer, and enjoyed cooking and having her family gathered at her home every Sunday after Sunday School.
She will always be loved and truly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
