Richard Ortiz

Richard Ortiz, age 57 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away July 28, 2024 surrounded by his family and loved ones at Covenant Hobbs Hospital. 

Mr. Ortiz was born March 24, 1967 to Joe Frank and Mary Leonor Ortiz in Burley, Idaho. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 03, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home. Cremation will be taking place at a later date. 

Richard is survived by his four children: Richard Ortiz and wife Cieana, Joanne Ortiz, Sh'Dah Ortiz and husband Dillion all of Hobbs, New Mexico, Amanda Ortiz and husband Jordan of Portales, New Mexico. Three sisters: Mary Bara, Norma and husband Fabian Ornelas, Leonor and husband Manuel Cano. Three brothers: Joe Ortiz, Fernando and wife Iris Ortiz, and Rene Ortiz all of Hobbs, New Mexico. Six grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.  Rick always had a smile on his face and lit up any room he walked into with his joy and infectious laughter.  He was full of jokes and enjoyed making others laugh.  His family brought him so much joy and he will truly be missed.

Richard was preceded in death by his Parents: Joe Frank and Mary Leonor Ortiz and Sister: Joanne Ortiz 

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
