Salvador Armendairz Obituary

Salvador Nieves Armendariz, age 80 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021 at Covenant Health Hospital-Hobbs.

Mr. Armendariz was born to Jose Armendariz and Petra Ramirez in Las Varas, Chihuahua, Mexico on August 5, 1940.

Visitation for Salvador will be on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Calvary Memorial Chapel. Prayer Vigil will recite at 6:00 P.M.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Helena Catholic Church in Hobbs, New Mexico with Father Joe Pacuqing officiating. Committal burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.

Salvador is survived by his lovely wife of 59 years; Luz Maria Armendariz of Hobbs, New Mexico. Two daughters; Norma Mora-Armendariz and wife; Bernadette of San Antonio, Texas and Alma Dyer and husband Jeff of Hobbs, New Mexico. One son; Alonzo Armendariz of El Paso, Texas. Five sisters; Magdalena Trejo of San Antonio, Texas, Margaret Armendariz, Carmen Armendariz, Ofelia Armendariz all from of El Paso, Texas and Veronica Johnston of Wichita, Kansas. Three brothers; Mario Armendariz of Farmington, New Mexico, Ricardo Armendariz of El Paso, Texas, and Henry Armendariz of San Antonio, Texas. Three grandchildren; Erica Dryer, Christopher Dyer and Helen Mora. Two great grandchildren; Aniya Kramer and Phoenix Jimenez.

Salvador was preceded in death by his parents; Jose and Petra and One brother; Robert Armendariz.

Salvador is a US Army Veteran who served for his country in the late 1950’s. Salvador enjoyed soccer! He was even the first soccer coach in Hobbs, New Mexico. In 1972 Salvador was chosen by the Rotary International for the exchange program in Argentina studying culture. Salvador was an artist, during the years he painted many landscapes of the surrounding areas and was a part of the Llano Estacado Art Association. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
