Silvestre Velasquez

Silvestre Velasquez, age 73, of Hobbs New Mexico died Friday, January 8, 2021 at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Silvestre was born on December 30, 1947 to Simon Velasquez and Paula Chavez in Eunice, New Mexico.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home in Hobbs, New Mexico. Memorial service will begin at 6 p.m.

Graveside service will be Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.

Silvestre is survived by his wife Lupe Velasquez, two daughters; Lorena and husband Albert Hernandez of Hobbs, New Mexico and Amelia and husband Martin Valenzuela of Hobbs, New Mexico. Two sisters; Lupe Hernandez and Juana Ramirez. One brother; Manuel Velazquez. Four grandchildren Giovanni and Ayana Hernandez. Omar and wife Christiana Valenzuela and Aaron Valenzuela. Two great grandchildren Maryna Alize Valenzuela and Aiden Daniel Valenzuela. Other survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins. 

Silvestre was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; Mary Rodriguez, one brother; Simon Velasquez Jr. and one son; Silvestre Velasquez Jr. and Aunts and Uncles.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home in Hobbs, New Mexico.
