Sonia Franco

Sonia Franco, age 58 passed away Saturday, September 07, 2024 surrounded by her family and loved ones at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. 

Mrs. Franco was born January 04, 1966 to Anastacio Navarrete and Eva Gonzalez in Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A prayer vigil will recite at 6 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on September 12, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Jorge Vargas officiating. Committal burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. 

Sonia is survived by her husband of 40 years Manuel Franco of Hobbs. Four children: Nora Marquez, Angel Franco and wife Adelina, Pilar A. Franco and wife Yesenia, and Angeles Duque and husband Niuvar all of Hobbs, New Mexico. Parents: Anastacio and Eva Navarrete of Hobbs. Two sisters: Maria Ruiz of Hobbs. Maria P. Quintana and husband Victor of Amarillo, Texas. Brother: Armando Navarrete and wife Yolanda of Amarillo, Texas. Nine grandchildren: Alejandro, Julian, Ruby, Ezequiel, Daniela, Angel, Lucas, Zarah, and Kamila all of Hobbs.

Sonia was preceded in death by her sister Martina Hernandez. Brother: Benjamin Navarrete. Mother-in-law: Maria de la Luz Franco. 

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
