Stella Torres

Stella Torres, age 65 of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away April 05, 2024, at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas.

Ms. Torres was born October 31, 1958, to Agustine Orona and Martina Hernandez in Hobbs, New Mexico. 

A memorial service in honor of Stella will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the VFW located at 609 W. Alto Dr in Hobbs, New Mexico. 

Stella is survived by her three children; Felecita Orona of Chandler, Arizona. Jose Torres and wife Carmen of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Sean Torres and wife Hanna of Mesa, Arizona. Boyfriend; David Winkler of Hobbs, New Mexico. Three sisters; Maricella Hernandez and Patricia Orona both of Hobbs. Manuela Witaker of Memphis, Tennessee. Two grandchildren; Joshua Torres and wife Angel of Clovis, New Mexico. Mateo Torres of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Two great-grandchildren; Scarlett Torres and Lovett Torres both of Clovis, New Mexico. 

Stella was preceded in death by her parents; Agustine and Martina Orona. Sister; Apollonia Aguilar. Four brothers; Robert Orona, Juan Orona, Reynaldo Orona, and Agustine Orona Jr. 

The final chapter in Stella Orona Torres life has come to a close. She has departed this world leaving behind her children, daughters in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren (her children's many friends that she treated as her own), sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends far too suddenly. Her home, kitchen and heart were opened to so many, she never turned away anyone in need. Her home was always full of good food, warmth, laughter and love, even when she had very little for herself. She took care of everyone, putting the needs of so many before her own, and she was deeply loved for it. Stella was never alone as she always had someone in her home and is always in our hearts and thoughts. She will forever be loved by all those who knew her. 

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
