Velia Cordova

Velia Cordova, 83, of Jal, New Mexico passed away on December 05, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family and loved ones, 

Mrs. Cordova was born June 30, 1938 to Filemon De La Hoya and Natalie Gomez in Ignacio Ramiriez, Durango, Mexico. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 08, 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Calvary Funeral Home in Eunice, New Mexico. A prayer vigil will recite at 6 p.m. 

Mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, December 09, 2021 at 2 p.m. at St. Cecila Catholic Church in Jal, New Mexico with Father Christopher Amojo officiating. Committal burial will follow at Jal Cemetery. 

Velia is survived by her son; Alejandro Cordova of Jal, New Mexico. Three sisters; Rosa De La Hoya of Dallas, Texas. Romelia Aguilar of Fresno, California and Maria Reyes of El Paso, Texas. Three brothers; Rodolfo De La Hoya of Ramirez, Durango, Mexico. Filemon De La Hoya Jr of Los Angles, California and Galacion De La Hoya of Jal, New Mexico. Six grandchildren. Eighteen great grandchildren and Three great great grandchildren. 

Velia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son; Felipe Cordova. 

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Calvary Funeral Home of Eunice, New Mexico.
