Willie Andrew Lavow

Willie Andrew Lavow, 66 of Hobbs, New Mexico was called home to be with the Lord on May 09, 2025.

Mr. Lavow was born May 28, 1958 to Lee Andrew Lavow and Shirley Gardner in Hobbs, New Mexico.

A memorial service will be held on his birthday, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home. 

Willie leaves behind a sister: Earmalee Vaughns of Hobbs. Brother: Artemus Lavow of Hobbs. Daughter: Kountressia Lavow Rios of Desoto, Texas. Nephew: Derick Collins of Hobbs. Great-niece:  Cherlee Collins of Hobbs. Special cousins: Anthony, Angela, Ron, Brittney, and Tyreck Gardner of Norman, Oklahoma. Two grandsons: DeQuan Andrew Durant and Adon Lee Lavow. One great-grandson: Aden Durant, and one great-granddaughter: Mozzi Durant both of Desoto, Texas.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents: Lee and Shirley Lavow. Aunt: Doreetha Martin and a host of favorite uncles.

Willie graduated from Hobbs High School then went on to attend New Mexico Junior College. From a young age Willie was a very competitive athlete where he excelled in every sport but he really loved baseball and basketball.  Soon after he met the love of his life Debra Kay Sanders and they had one daughter Kountressia Lavow Rios and he inherited two special daughters Olympia Walker and Terecia Martin. Willie was also a long time resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma where he thrived in restaurant management for over 15 years as a single father. Willie then became a grandfather and he played a vital role in their life. Willie be forever loved and missed by all those who knew him.

Services are under the direction of Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico.
